Today I remembered to make wishes and to have hope.
I found this rusty old coin in my pocket, from someone I can’t remember, from a place I don’t know, with a purpose I don’t it served. When I was a kid and found them, I kept them until I saw the first well and made a wish.
But now money doesn’t make wishes come true and there isn’t a well. They dried out. My father told me the stoup got mouldy. The marble cracked and the prayers turned to dust on the walls.
But I still have my hope. I know the rain will come and I will melt into the ground I walked on and nature will bring nourishment. And others will live again.
