That scent belonged to daily work, it accompanied objects during the journey, giving the sense of smell a part of the story that formal sight left unexpressed. Over time, it was precisely those who received those boxes who recognized that signature and asked that it could exist independently.

LAVS thus became a fragrance and marked the beginning of Filippo Sorcinelli’s olfactory research.

Twenty-five years have passed since then and, while perfume crossed different countries, cultures and sensibilities, its author also crossed himself. Tailoring has been flanked by photography, painting, music, performance and an increasingly personal olfactory universe, in which perfume has taken on the dignity of an artistic language.

Olfactory research has become a tool to question the sacred, the body, memory, vulnerability, desire and that unfathomable area of the human being in which beauty and restlessness often end up recognizing themselves.
