CEDRAMBERTM

Discovered in 1966, CedramberTM is obtained from Cedrol, a sesquiterpenic alcohol present in the essential oil of conifers (cedar oil). Cedar certainly deserves the title of one of the first natural fragrances used by man to flavor and create perfumes. In ancient Egyptian mythology (about 6,000 years ago), the cedar was a symbol of heaven, earth and the underworld, and its scent was closely associated with all that was wholesome and divine. CedramberTM gives a great uplifting effect similar to ambergris, but adds a lot of woody undertones with its dry and cedar notes. In its composition the note of cedar wood clearly dominates, fresh and uniform, but without all the strong scents of “pencil shavings”. CedramberTM is found between amber and patchouli, and has both fixative and scent-diffusing effects. CedramberTM is used in men’s perfumes for woody and amber accords, and in women’s perfumes for some floral notes.
