Ophelia is dedicated to the painting of the same name by the British artist Sir John Everett Millais, preserved in the collection of the Tate Britain in London. After graduating from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts, I decided to leave Milan to live in London. With a friend we found a small room in a cozy apartment very close to the Tate Britain, so every morning on my way to work I stopped by to say hello to Ophelia. I passed by there every day. He gave me immense joy, reassuring her, telling her that everything would be fine. Warm it up with my gaze. I quickly passed through the other rooms, and the artfully colored walls behind each work served as a technical prelude to my appointment. The room with Francis Bacon's works was the monster to fight before reaching my princess. I knew I had to go on from there, from all that pain, from looking in the mirror without recognizing myself. Every time it was painful, but I came to terms with it. I used to go to Ophelia every day, even though I was late, I ran through Saint James Park, I didn't mind. But I had to go and see my Ophelia, look at her gaze turned to space. I was in love with a love that was not for me. Loving Love. Love can end really badly, and Ofelia knows it well. I tried to depict him with the same maniacal obstinacy that Millais put into it, painting a nature rich in details, with its flowers, plants, bushes and trees. I tried to put everything into it, all my love.
