Istituto dell'Odore is a collection of fragrances that was born in the imagination with the aim of archiving the past and the present, making the olfactory future permanent. It represents the only place, physical and at the same time imaginary, where all the olfactory memories and essences that the human being has lost over time will be kept.

In this project, perfumes aspire to become custodians of memory and the stories that tell them express a shareable and universal experience. Each fragrance is born around a defined raw material, elevating itself to a refuge for memories and emotions. Personal feeling thus becomes a common element of the community, with the aim of creating a catalogue raisonné of raw materials that carry shared memories.

With Istituto dell'Odoro, a new era opens for designer perfumery, which redefines the role of the fragrance creator – who becomes an archivist and guardian of tomorrow's olfactory memory – and reinterprets the universal value of raw materials.

Creating today to protect tomorrow's memory: this is where the archivist's work begins, with the research and cataloguing of the finds, the first five copies of which are already available to visitors.
