Carla Bru

Florentine, trained between the Art Institute of Porta Romana and the Academy of Fine Arts, Carla Bru lived an important formative parenthesis of nine years in Brazil, where she learned a free and total approach to artistic space. Back in Florence, after an experience as a street painter, she opened her studio-gallery in the San Niccolò district, now a point of reference and sharing for numerous street artists on the local scene.

Her stylistic signature lies in Art Telling, a technique that evolves the collage of newspaper clippings into symbolic messages full of meaning and instinct. Her work is an exclusive tribute to the female universe: her famous "Shamane" with fiery red hair embody an ancestral power, strength and a link between heaven and earth. Through street art and projects such as Kindness, the artist chooses to convey messages of love and positivity, using universal gestures to transform urban space into a place of exchange, resistance and awareness.
